FRIDAY

I drove down to the beach Friday morning, with beachhouse 2001/2 roomie Gretchen (Vita's guest), after a night out in the city watching DJ Waxy Fresh spin the latest in breakbeat funk.  When we arrived at the house, Vita's sister and family were packing up from their week at the beachhouse.   We were introduced to her 4 young-ens.   Since the weather was crappy and the kids were cute, Gretchen and I entertained ourselves with the children as the adults were nice enough to clean up.   After they left, Gretchen and I realized we had nothing to do.   Thankfully Kathy arrived soon after and we were able to get a few games of Yahtzee in.  The rest of the day proceeded pretty slowly.   The afternoon turned into the early evening, so we had some drinks, got some pizza and watched lots of TV.   Boy, TGIF is not what it used to be.   Although we were quite entertained at the sound effects of Who's Line is it Anyway.   Anthony showed up and complained of our TGIF ways.   He promptly drowned his frustrations in some funnels.    The rest of the housemates eventually arrived, but it wasnt until after 10pm when they first started showing up.   We all then basically drank some beers, watched more TV, and eventually the evening was over.    Relaxing....yes.   Low key....yes.   Possible mid-summer blues....maybe.

SATURDAY

Saturday was another beautiful day.   After the usual run to the Riverside Café, a little suntan lotion (and sheer blondener), the housemates made their way to the beach.  Several of us manly men decided to play some frisbee football on the beach.   Well, after running up and down the beach in the sand, we all realized that we were extremely out-of-shape.   The game lasted about 15 minutes, after Bryan, Sean, and Seth toppled Anthony, Chris S. FTFP, and Rick.   After some sunning, swimming and a game of "how much it take for you to ________", we started to make our way back to the house.   But not before Rick poured a gatorade bottle worth of sand into his mouth.   That boy and his sand....    Anyhoo, it was a pretty crowded weekend, but where was Kate . . . again?   Lots of guests down, so shower time was precious.   While showers were being taken, pizza was ordered, beers were drunk, and the plan for the evening was FAXed out . . . Parker House by 7:30.   We all got dressed, some in plaid, some in Easter Egg dresses, and some in blue.   I don't know how we did it, but we actually called for a taxi around 7pm.    The 15 of us piled in and we were off!   We made our way into the Parker House and began the evenings festivities.   We started off in the back corner but as the night played out, we eventually migrated towards the dancefloor and eventually took over the front corner of the bar.   Our group grew to probably around 25 when we merged with our other group of friends from north Jersey/NYC and the dance party was in full force.  People around us only wished they could dance with us.   When they turned the music off and turned on the lights, the group seemed to dispurse into the early evening light to various points in the taxi-line.   Chaos ensued.   I wound up with Bryan/Jess F., Jen/Jess S., and Kathy/Steve(Dave's friend).   We headed to Leggetts once again for the after party.   Other lost housemates eventually worked their way into the overcrowded bar.    I only lasted about 15 minutes before I decided I had enough.   I left Dave in charge of Rick, bid adieu, and headed home.   Eventually the house filled up with the remaining stragglers and one by one people found a place to retire for the evening.

SUNDAY

Sunday, yet again, was a great beach day.   Not too hot, perfect sunshine and the water was beautious.   It's a wonder how different July has been compared to June.    Another few trips to Riverside, and we were off to the beach.    Somehow separated into 2 groups on the sand, everyone took in some sun and enjoyed the weather.   Eventually, the afternoon turned and people started heading back to the house.   After some cleanup and some rest, the remaining 10 housemates discussed dinner plans.   We headed out to Oneils but aborted on that plan once the wait was discovered to be over an hour.    Edgars became the fall back plan and we headed over to grab some eats.    Vita did her Sunday conversation interview and we sat down to a pleasant Sunday night dinner.   Some hit the road after dinner and the rest headed back to the house to cleanup and pack.   Before I knew it, it was 11pm and I was driving back up north on the GSP.
